I am happy for yoy and Marvin and know that you will have a great day and future togehter.
Unfortunatley i will not be able to attend your wedding in Barbados. A very beautiful island - that is where my late husband was from. He lived in St. Michael and I have visited the island 4 times.
Well I thought November would never get here, but it's here and there are 25 days to go, for this great event of my daughter's wedding in Barbados. My suit is pressed and ready, I got my shoes and all the fixings to take part in this wonderful celebration. Of course I have prayed every day for you both ,Jessica and Marvin, and expect that God's presence and grace will be with you on the 25th, and also in the days and years to follow. Love you Jessica.
Oh My Goodness, it's November 1, I am having an anxiety attack. Of course, my wardrobe is still in process. I am counting down the 25 days until my precious frst born, Marvin L Jackson, Jr's WEDDING DAY EXTRAVAGANZA 2012. I will continue to pray daily each of you, Marvin and Jessica, to seek God's mercy and blessings in building a full, healthy, and enduring relationship. Marvin, I love and miss you.
Um...what can I say...Karaoke is going to be OFF the CHAIN!!! I am also not responsible for anything that may or may not take place during karaoke...just know that this is a serious competition...
Hey Ms. Jessica, just wanted to wish you and you future husband many years of happiness. May God bless your union abundantly. I am so proud of you Jess.
Wishing you all that life has to offer.
Miz Jessica--excuse us--Dr. Shepherd... Congratulations! We are so happy for you & Marvin! You were always a special young lady to us--as the babysitter for our sons, EJ & Emmanuel. You told us back then, in the mid-90's, that your goal was to become a doctor. You stayed focused and met your goal. It's been a joy to watch you blossom into the woman you've become and yet to become as a married woman. Praying for God's blessings to continually rest upon you and Marvin! ~Love Eternally, Dr. E & Sis. Lisa
So, it has taken me a minute to get to this, but here I am! Congrats to both of you. I love, Jess! I wish you love, happiness, and dare I say it, lots of babies. LOL! I can just see the look on your face.
Can't wait for Barbados!

Congratulations Marvin and Jessica. May you be blessed with all things good. May your joys like the stars at night be to numerous to count. May your victories be more abundant than all the grains of sand on all the beaches on all the oceans in the world. May adversity only serve to make you stronger. And may beauty, order, and abundance be your constant companions. Welcome to Happily Ever After...

It is hard to see you all grown up, and now getting married. I guess I have to face that you will always be my "baby" cousin. I look forward to being a part of your special day! (Can't wait to meet you Marvin. You HAVE to be special for Jessica to be getting Married!)

Sissy and Marc
What an awesome idea Jess and Marvin!!
I loved the proposal story the best! And the pictures tell 1000 words. And the music! The Sade "By Your Side" was my wedding song. Great choice! I'm so happy for you both. It's about time!! I know the wedding will be breathtaking! Do I need to remind you to "Take lots of pictures?!?!"" not....
Congratulations Jessica and Marvin
May God bles your union.
I was just thinking! You could really wear my wedding dress. I could put a Vera Wang label in it. No one would know that it is only 44 years old. Oh! Maybe it would be a little too short, but we could always put a ruffle on the hem. Just saying!!! I tried OK. I'll give it to my granddaughter if and when she comes. Sydney is too tall already.
Congratulations to you both. Jessica & Marvin!!
This was well worth the wait. Your Website is a beautiful Love Story.
May God Bless you both in this next chapter of your lives together.
Thanks for taking the time to put this together. It is wonderful. I really enjoyed getting to know Marvin and hearing about the proposal.
I send you guys much love and peace during this time of planning and for your life together. May God bless you abundantly!
I am forever more referring to Marvin as Jessica's Uncle's pen name:-) I also contend that your proposal story is unfounded and that Marvin indeed propsed at Chili's according to his original plan.
Seriously - I am so excited for you two to start this next chapter of your lives together. What a blessing that God has brought you together to demonstrate His love in a tangible way.
The not so serious - I cannot WAIT to get to Barbados in November. You two are becoming Chicagoans already...planning excursions away from the cold in the winter. LOVE IT:-)
Love to both my cousins!
What a beautiful website, so much fun, and with great music! I loved reading all the details... Jessica kept all this pretty much under wraps until very recently. We are very happy for her and Marvin, the beautiful families and many good friends.
One question, though - what was Marvin doing in Belgrade???
Much love to all, Djenita
We feel very honoured to be invited to your wedding and we are so looking forward to it.
Your website is amazing to say the least.
I hope that all your plans turn out just as you want them to be.
The website is beautiful. Great job putting it together.
Wishing you God's Blessings, Happiness, Peace and Eternal Love .

is a sovereign island country in the Lesser Antilles. It is about 168 kilometres (104 mi) east of the islands of Saint Vincent and the Grenadines, and 400 kilometres (250 mi) north-east of Trinidad and Tobago. Barbados is outside of the principal Atlantic hurricane belt.
Barbados was initially visited by the Spanish around the late 1400s to early 1500s and first appears on a Spanish map from 1511. In 1627 the first permanent settlers arrived from England and it became an English and later British colony.
Barbados has an estimated population of 284,000 people, with around 80,000 living in or around Bridgetown, the largest city and the country's capital
Barbados is the most British island in the Caribbean, known for its beaches and cricket - its national sport - the former British colony has a dual heritage: English - evident in its stone-built Anglican churches and Saturday race meetings - and African, reflected in its music and dance.
Afternoon tea is a ritual, cricket is the national pastime (a passion, most admit), dressing for dinner is a firmly entrenched tradition, and bar patrons are as likely to order a Pimm's Cup as a rum and Coke. And yet, Barbados is hardly stuffy—this is still the Caribbean, after all. Instead, it's a sophisticated tropical island with a rich history, lodgings to suit every taste and pocketbook, and plenty to pique your interest by day and night, from broad, sandy beaches to fine restaurants enveloped by lush gardens and tropical foliage.

I thought about the cost of the platinum package gifts and felt ashamed that I did not think about those with less disposable income than the platinum gifts allows, so I give you the gold.
The matron of honour is the OLDER (just so it's clear) sister of the bride. Desiree has been an integral part of Jessica's life and although annoying..........is the best sister one could have. As the "go to" sister in elementary school that could beat my enemies up to the sweet thoughtful sister that has helped me through the worst of times, she is a great sissy! She is married to Marcus Jordan (OU alum- Go SOONERS!) and they have two gorgeous children, Sydney and Jeffrey. They live in Tulsa, Oklahoma and are very excited to be part of our special day.
Michele Reisdorf aka "Dada" has been friends with the bride since their senior year of high school in Jenks, OK. They have been inseparable since. She drove me home from school everyday (or I would be stuck taking the school bus!!), taught me how to drive stick shift and got me and Ann (the other bridesmaid) into our first fight...........over a Snoop Doggy Dog CD. Oh the days.......... They attended ORU together and she lived with me at home for 2 years. She woke me up for all my classes, took my notes and exams.........JUST JOKING. We also had the chance to work together at the Marriott while in college and now she is the General Manager of several properties in Sarasota!
We had a blast through all these memories and still have a blast when we get the chance to hang out. Michele is a quiet, strong spirit that is so sincere and she always goes above and beyond for her friends. I can always count on her for a shoulder to cry on and for a listening ear.
She is married to Dan Reisdorf and they live in Sarasota, FL with their sons Matthew and Joshua.
Ann................where do I begin? Oh boy. She is the friend of a lifetime it seems. She never seems to go away............ But I wouldn't have it other way. Ann befriended the bride WWWWAAAYY back in high school when she wanted to talk to me but wasn't allowed because of her friends..... but she did anyway. Since that day she has not stopped talking to me and calls me about 17 times a week. Literally.
Ann and I have gone through high school, college, med school and grad school together and as much as we annoy each other we can't get enough of each other! She is my ace and will be the friend that will tell me the truth..........even if I think my outfit is cute and she doesn't.
Ann is determined, SAFE (aka Safety Suzy) and always provides the best ear to hear my problems and concerns. She is currently residing in Towson, MD completing her fellowship in Retina as a subspecialist of Opthamology. She continues to strive for the best and constantly provides me with more motivation!
Sydney Renee Jordan is the beautiful, wonderful, "mini-me" niece of the bride. She plays a big part in the brides life as a thriving, smart 12 year old. She is an avid soccer player and also attended an exclusive Chinese immersion school program over the last 2 years.
She has cosigned on my marriage to "Uncle Marvin" and would like me to get "married already" as she put it...........
She adores her younger brother Jeffrey and also enjoys reading.
Malcolm Jackson aka Michaelangelo aka Pistol aka Whip aka Cry-Baby aka Captain Jackson, brother to the groom, will serve as my Groomsman. I have known Malcolm for 30 years and some days. At first sight I thought, "Ahhhh....Not much here": poop slober and the crying; I was good. Then as the years moved along and the growth an acceptance set-in Malcolm grew in to the man he is today, the man as my brother I love almost as much as Jessica. He grew into the Best Man.
Yo! This is my dude. Anthony and I go back to freshman year in college at the University of Oklahoma. I had a 3.8 GPA and I was close to the 4.0 but Anthony had the .2 I needed. We were roommates, yard homies and crows. Anthony's family took me in over long holiday weekends when I did not feel like nor could afford I-35 South into Dallas. Now-a-days 'Tony' is an accomplished Dentist, father and husband.
I will be proud to have Tony stand as my Groomsman. We will be cleaner that first Stompdown in Norman when we had the new crosstrainers, Girbeau Jeans and Tommy shirts.
Kevin is a native of Chicago Il. Marvin and Kev first met under the brotherhood of Alpha Phi Alpha in Austin, Texas as Kevin, leaning heavily on the shield, asked Marvin and fellow Alpha Jeff Reid if he could sleep on the floor of their Hotel room during exas Relays. Well, Kevin along with several other item from that weekend Marvin has not been able to get rid off to this date. Kevin has shared the comedy stages in Dallas and travelled the world with Marvin. Ken in currently and IT developer in the Chicago area and we are looking forward to his wedding date.
Here is another amazing reason we are having the wedding in Barbados!! RUM!
Just joking, however Mount Gay Rum is a exceptional rum that is a national treasure of Barbados. If you are looking for fun things to do, pass by the distillery for a tour and tasting.
It was recently featured in a magazine as RUM RUMINATIONS!
Rum has been produced in Barbados for over 350 years and Barbados rum is recognised as one of the finest in the world today.
The Mount Gay Rum Distillery visitor's centre on Spring Garden Highway is a short taxi ride through Bridgetown. Built like a typically Bajan house, the visitors centre is in front of the rum warehouse and bottling facility.
Rum is a distilled beverage made from sugarcane by-products such as molasses and sugarcane juice by a process of fermentation and distillation. The distillate, a clear liquid, is then usually aged in oak and other barrels.
The first distillation of rum took place on the sugarcane plantations of the Caribbean in the 17th century.
Barbados: Oistins Fish Fry
It is a totally Bajan experience and a must during your stay on the island.
Oistins is an active fishing town on the south coast and is a hub of activity on weekend nights.
On Friday night particularly, the big thing to do is go to the fish fry in Oistins. The food is the main draw - excellent fish, (tuna, swordfish, marlin, mahy-mahy, flying fish), lobster, chicken etc served in an extremely informal setting. You can get your fish grilled or fried depending on which vendor you choose from. It’s all cooked on the spot in front of you.
A plate of fish (and there’s plenty fish on it) and a beer will cost you about Bds$30.00.
But there are also art and craft items on sale, including jewellery, pottery, ceramics, leather craft, wood carvings, straw craft, clothing and accessories, and original paintings and prints.
There are two sources of music – one plays mostly back-in-time (Bob Marley, Platters, Jimmy Cliff, Jamaican ska, even old country and western!), the other calypso, including the current Crop Over hits. You can dance if you want or watch the others dance! Some nights there’s a live band.
Food is usually available from about 7:00 pm but if you go early (say 5:45 pm) you can walk on the pier and perhaps see a great sunset. Collect your fish scraps from the vendors in the fish market and feed the turtles.
Frequented by visitors and locals alike, it's a great place to spend an informal evening. Lots of parents bring their children.
AS some of you may know.............and others may not know.
I am a fan of karaoke.
Nothing more to it however when I first moved to Chicago, I realized that my dear sweet cousin Michelle also loved karaoke............. so we became the karaoke crazies.........
And now we want you to join in! Michelle is the OFFICIAL HOST of the Marvin & Jessica Wedding Karaoke Klash!!
It will be in the genre of Jessica's chosen theme........ THE 80's!!
And there will be lots of music, critiques and just pure chaotic fun.
SO feel free to join us on Friday night after the Fish Fry for a good time at Karaoke!
See you there!
The wedding ceremony will be at 3:30PM in Waterford,
St. Michael, Barbados W.I.
Where do I start?
My story: Marvin Sr. of Beaumont, Texas, found Barbara Perry in Amarillo,Texas. If I remember the accounts correctly........ she chased him down at a Juneteenth parade along Amarillo Blvd. Her task was not easy so she employed the help of her four sisters and three brothers to devise a plan of attack. Although their plan was successful, Marvin Sr. had his defenses up with his five brothers and one sister. Some 37 years later they are still wed and reside in the North Texas area.
Barbara is a degreed accountant and is currently a consultant in the financial industry. Ms. Barbara is also an entrepreneur with a designer handbag/accessory boutique. She has been active since chilhood in the Baptist Church, enjoys traveling, family, entertaining and LMN.
Marvin Sr., Muhammad, is currently employed with Lockheed Martin, hosts a radio talk show for KFOI Movement on www.fishbowlradionetwork.com and is an avid golfer.
The Jackson/Muhammad union produced three seeds; Marvin Jr. (me), Reggie (no-longer with us due to complications during birth) and Malcolm (the baby of the bunch). They poured their hearts into the raising of their sons. They allowed us to be us which resulted in Marvin Jr: being published by the Library of Congress, achieving academic/scholarship success at the University of Oklahoma, becoming a network writer and traveling the world. Additionally, their love and support allowed Malcolm: to serve Military tours in Qatar, South Africa and Saudi Arabia; he also achieved collegiate success from Stephen F. Austin University.
The wonderful parents of the bride hail from the island of Jamaica.........Green, Black and Gold. Married in 1969, they celebrate their 43rd wedding anniversary this year. They moved to Toronto, Canada in 1970 and lived there for 22 years before moving to Tulsa, Oklahoma. Desmond is a licenced professional counselour and Pauline is an elementary school teacher. They are loving parents and created a wonderful home for their 2 daughters. Desmond likes to read in his spare time and also likes movies! Pauline likes to travel and enjoys entertaining. They both go to India for missions and founded Operation Good News for Missions Outreach.
They are very excited about their younger daughter getting married.............FINALLY.
As per Jessica:
"I had planned a girls trip to Argentina from November of 2011 and one by one, all of my girlfriends bailed from the trip! So I sheepishly asked Marvin if he would come and surprisingly he said he would find out if he could get the time off and a few days later, he said he would be able to come!
So we left for the trip, and if anyone has travelled with me they know I am the
1. Trip coordinator
2. Trip nazi
3. Trip person you get an agenda from every day..........printed in hard copy!
And we had a full 3 days of the trip complete when on the Friday we went to the Tango show and dinner.
We got to the show and had dinner and right before the lights went down they announced "DO NOT TAKE PICTURES DURING THE SHOW!!" However, as always, I thought I could get away with taking pictures. And totally got busted and we got in trouble ! So they asked us for our names and then I was sure we were going to be kicked out.
Then the gentleman on stage said that there were special occasions for the evening and they called our names............I was still clueless. I thought we were going to get in trouble for the picture taking. Then they sang Happy Birthday to another table and then the lights went down.................
He sang a beautiful song in Spanish however I didn't know what he was saying.
So at the end of the song...........I was clapping and then Marvin turned to me and said, "he called our names out and sang that song for us because I wanted to ask you to spend the rest of your life with me............... and I wanted to propose and.............."
I didn't hear anything else after that. I saw the ring in the box on the table and I had my hands to my face for ummmmmmmm about 30 minutes it felt like. I had sweaty armpits, I cried (the ugly cry BTW) and I couldn't believe it! I said yes and then had a silly smile on my face for the rest of the show.
After the show we went back to the hotel and had a toast at the bar and I called my sister, Shan and Ann. It was an amazing experience and I couldn't have asked for anything better. He totally surprised me and it was perfect timing!
As per Marvin (the Truth):
I had a really nice ring in my bag and I needed a reason to wear my good suit so why not propose.
When did I know I wanted to propose?
Well, I have known and loved Jessica for a number of years but due to my youth and the living I had to do, I was without her. As we re-united and began building on our foundation I realized I could not let her go again no matter how much she messed-up. What really sealed the deal, LADIES LISTEN: One-day while Jessica was visiting me in Dallas she was taking care of some Gynecological Business, using big words and on the phone with Dr. so and so and Dr. whats his face. She stopped to ask me if I was hungry, which I replied, "Yes". Then she stopped what she was doing, cooked an awesome meal, (Jamaican goat/beef/fish-ham with sides) let me eat next to her in front of the tv then cleaned-up after me. I knew then I could not let her go. She is smart, high-energy, well spoken, loves hard, passionate, my friend, beautiful (after 9:30am), involved, type-a personality (I need that for balance), God fearing, she can cook (while doing all the above) and she let me eat on the couch.
Jessica was on a date with Gerald Lee celebrating Tim Perry's birthday. I was invited along as a friend of both Tim and Gerald. I met Jessica and thought, "cute but a little too queen bee for me". Gerald excuses himself to go to the restroom and Jessica made a pass at me. Me being the college playa/stud I scooped game and returned the flirt in kind. The rest is a 13 year love story that will not be broken.
I knew Marvin through other friends but never really talked to him or spent time with him. But when we went out for Tim's birthday............ it was NOT a date between me and Gerald Lee.......... I spoke a little bit with Marvin but not super impressed. Later that semester we went on a date and then by the time we were graduating we decided to start dating. It was short but definitely memorable. We had a great connection and had fun together. Throughout the last 13 years, we kept in touch here and there. Birthdays and New Years........... missed a few years. But then he went to Austrailia for New Years 2010/2011 and contacted me after. We texted for about a month and then we called each other and then we visited each other..............the rest is history. We still had that ole skool love, connection and friendship. 13 years was long to wait..............but when it's the one you're supposed to be with, it's no time at all.
Marvin Leroy Jackson Jr. aka Boogie aka Marvin Michaels aka Mr Jessica Shepherd (if you know her then you will agree). I know this page is about me, but words won't do justice. I am an artist, writer, reader, dreamer, realist, Alpha, Christian, teacher, motivator, supporter, etc. I am only all of this based on the foundation that Barbara Jackson and Marvin Muhammad built. Jessica has completed this build out by adding the walls. I was always getting back to her until I got back.
I started in Amarillo, Texas then Beaumont, Dallas, Norman, Oklahoma City, Durham, NC, New York City, Los Angeles, CA, Sydney, Belgrade, Shanghi.
The bride extraordinaire is a determined, very opinionated woman who takes life to the fullest. She was brought up by the best West Indian parents around...................... Education was not an option, you didn't leave the table until your food was finished and goat meat and rice and peas was a normal dinner meal. She learned how to attain the most in life but also was reminded of where she came from. She is of Jamaican heritage (although her parents argue that notion) and loves every bit of Canadian culture.
She moved to the US at the age of 12 (only 15 years ago........) and finished high school in Tulsa before finally finishing at the University of Oklahoma where she met the dashing MARVIN JACKSON!
Since then she has finished medical school, fellowship in GYN surgery and an MBA. Now living in Chicago, she is the Director of Minimally Invasive Surgery at the University of Illinois at Chicago and loving every moment of it.
She has experienced the best of times with Marvin and can't wait to experience more. The memories from 1999 up until now are so rich even though we went our separate ways for some time. We each pursued our passions separately and as fate would have it, we have now come full circle since 2011. She is excited to spend a special day with family and friends and the rest of her life with MJ.
Life is full of ups and downs but being able to share it with the best of friends and family makes life worth every moment.
“A Shepherd Wedding Tradition!”
Being able to officiate the weddings of both their daughters…what an honor! Lisa and I met the Shepherds back in 1992 (Wow--20 years ago!) on the campus of Oral Roberts University in Tulsa, Oklahoma. Our family, like the Shepherds, had just moved into “Grad Housing.” Our family relocated from Miami, FL, to Oklahoma in July 1992. I attended ORU as a master’s student; Lisa worked in ORU’s Word Processing Center; and our sons Emile, Jr. (EJ) and Emmanuel were in elementary school in the Jenks School District. I was introduced to Brother Desmond Shepherd by colleagues who spoke highly of him and felt our paths should cross. Also a graduate student, Desmond frequented the Word Processing Center at ORU where Lisa typed many of his papers. We learned that his wife, Pauline, was also a student at ORU, and they had two lovely teenage daughters—Desiree and Jessica.
Our sons weren’t babies, but we needed someone to watch over them after school and Jessica agreed to become their babysitter. Jessica did an outstanding job keeping our boys “in-line” and having fun at the same time. In 1995, I became the senior pastor of Liberty World Outreach Church in Tulsa, OK. Eventually, the Shepherd family joined our fellowship. I was honored to ordain Pastor Desmond Shepherd as Associate Pastor and to help support his missions ministry—Operation Good News International. I traveled with him and his team to India in 2000 and my life has not been the same since! We’ve watched Jessica grow up to become “Dr. J,” fulfilling both her dreams and those of her family!
We are excited about the “next level” of her life becoming the wife of Marvin Jackson!
Barbados! Why did they pick Barbados? Other than the fact it is a beautiful island, we will be surrounded by beautiful people and it will be the one day infront of GOD, Family and Friends we commit to one another an unconditional, "I DO"; there really is no other reason we picked Barbados.
Perched on a hill across the street from beach is the perfect place to stop to refuel on rum punches, Bajan staples and “old talk” while exploring Barbados.
Barbados rum shacks, are counterintuitively painted in Banks Beer’s bright red, white and black. So, it’s pretty hard to miss......but it manages to entice more than a few tourists away from snapping photos of the rock with a promise of laid-back good times soaked in local libations.
On the wall to the left of the entrance there’s a small photographic gallery of the bar’s history worthy of anyone looking to learn a little more about Barbados’ rich past. e
The menu, scrawled only somewhat legibly on a small green chalkboard leaned against a wall in the back, changes based on availability, but you can bet that whatever’s on offer will be authentically Bajan. Fried flying fish, macaroni pie, grilled chicken and the like usually form the centerpiece of their plates with side salads added for a little color.
So, you’re best bet is to just grab some food, prop up the bar or go to the beach, turn to your neighbor and strike up a conversation. Have fun...............it's Barbados!
Okay everyone! It's time for the surprise of the wedding!
Marvin and I are hosting a WEDDING CATAMARAN CRUISE!
So for the friends and family joining us in Barbados, please bring some swimsuits and flipflops for this fun outing on Saturday.
It will be from 2-6PM and we will have a private charter for the afternoon.
Lots of fun, sun, music and food.
Can't wait to see you there.
Look at the link above to get an idea of what it looks like.
Love Jessica and Marvin
With a lot of milestone dates behind me I am amped and geared up about the one in front of me. November 25, 2012 is on the horizon and I will be wed to my best friend/lover, Jessica A. Shepherd. The 'A' is for Awesome contrary to popular belief. I have family and friends coming to the beautiful island of Barbados to witness our union. For those that can't or do not want to make it, it is okay we will have a state-side reception you can bring gifts and money to, to show your support and love. I'm excited. I'm ready. Let's go...
We are happy to have someone near and dear to our family that can marry us! Please look at the wedding plans page to get a look at Dr. Emile Hawkins and his wife LIsa.
29 days left and we get to say "I DO"!!
Michelle Russell is the newly named host of...........
"80's KARAOKE NIGHT"
Please see the 'events' page to get the new updates!
As I was not privy to this party............. All I have to say is
"look at their t-shirts.........."
I will let Marvin Jackson update the happenings of his night out with his friends..............
Marvin's More accurate account:
I do not know where those t-shirts came from, they seem photoshoped. The guys and I spent a couple of hours at an evening service then amde our way to a volunteer shelter for battered husbands. Following OU boring victory over saxeT we needed a way to give back to the community. We acually raised close to $1000.00 to help single mothers through school and provide for their young. All-in-all it was a great nioght of giving and helping others.
I had a exquisite wedding shower in TUlsa on October the 6th and I enjjoyed every minute of my visit.
My future mother in law Barbara Jackson came up from Dallas with Malcolm's (Marvins younger brother) girlfriend Lauren.
We started the afternoon as well behaved women and as the afternoon progressed..............we soon became a group of loud, competitive, obnoxious women. I will NOT state who took the title in Obnoxiousness or who was the loudest, however I will state that we had a blast and I truly felt the love from the women gathered around the table at The Bistro in South Tulsa.
A special thanks to the wonderful hosts Taheerah Salim and Desiree Jordan. You girls went all out!!
This past weekend I spoke to many of my family members and just so everyone knows......... There is a particular family member that is near and dear to my heart who now has the title of
"Proudest Family Member"
She has been my most favourite (if that is even a term) aunt since I was a baby. I know this because I have so many photos with her and we still maintain that relationship.
So when you see Mrs. Jean Russell at the wedding.........you must introduce yourself to her because she will be sure to share many stories and let you know how excited she is.
THanks Aunt Jean for opening this wedsite EVERY DAY....... ha ha ha, it means a lot.
So now the invitations have been completed and are out. Look for yours in the mail and we hope to hear from you.
So we have conquered the Meet the Fockers episode and the Jacksons have met the Shepherds. Mission complete and it was quite a weekend. We had fun, laughed a lot and made many memories. Looking forward to any more family events
Then we have finally ordered the invitations so look for yours in the mail for the official invite
And third.............I have my shoes!! Very exciting.
Okay folks, we experienced the joy of clicking away a vast array of items for our wedding registry and have come up with a list of things that we MUST HAVE.....okay really like. However I must say for someone that didn't want to go to the store to look for items never relinquished the "clicker" the entire time we were there............... I will not reveal any names but there were only 2 people present. I never got to use the clicker.....
This week we will be sitting down to order the invitations that will go out to our invited guests! We are so excited and look forward to a small intimate wedding with our loved ones. So be on the look out for your invitations and thanks for checking in!
This weekend we have taken the time to appreciate all the love and support from our family and friends. While Marvin is in Beaumont with his family, I have had this weekend to share time dress shopping with my cousin. Vera, Lanvin, Amsale and many more. Jessica Shepherd and Marvin Jackson launch their personal wedsite at jessicaandmarvin.wedsite.com
Hey folks... to-date, I have selected my wedding party. I chose guys that I am close to and represent different chapters of my life. I will not provide name because their names are also answers to trivia questions. Next on my to do list is move my stuff from the beautiful and sunny Dallas, Texas to the awesome and culturally rich Chicago, Illinois. Right now I'm at work so...
As I get all the plans solidified for the wedding and the reception, I guess I should look for a dress.............. So the shopping begins! Not sure which designer to go with or what type of fit will be the best but I'll see what I can come up with!!
The origin of Groomsmen is for them to protect the bride and groom from evil sprits and specifically protect the bride from being stolen form the groom. That last part eliminates a lot of people from the potential groomsman list. Ideally the groomsmen are suppose to be swordsmen/fighters and the Best Man is to be the best of them.
Taking into consideration how much I love this woman and her value to me alive and in attendance I have a huge task in front of me. What I am looking for are skilled fighters, ex-military, crip/bloods and/or ninjas.
